Blue Magnolia was first discovered in 2015 in the United States. It originated from a wild strain of cubensis found in the Gulf Coast region in Mississippi. Tissue samples were taken from the original mushroom and sent to various hobbyists on an internet mushroom forum. It is now one of the most desirable cubensis strains due to its tendency to produce large mushrooms and potency.
