Return Policy

Defective items can be returned with no restocking fee or shipping cost. Please reach out to support@southwestshroomery.com
For non-defective returns, a 5% restocking fee applies.
All returns must be requested within 3 days of delivery, no exceptions.

Refund Policy

Due to the nature of our products, we are unable to accept refunds once the package has left our lab. In the event that a package goes missing, is damaged by a carrier en route, or other non-fault issues, please see the applicable sections below.

Agar plates are not refundable.

Discussion of Active species, chargebacks, or illegal activities immediately disqualify your order for refunds.

If after purchase you openly discuss anything aside from the study of active species we will no longer be able to do business or communicate with you.

Additionally by purchasing from us and therefore agreeing to our terms and services, upon breaking said term, your IP Address, Phone number, Email address and any other identifying information will be shared with vendors in the microscopy space. You will be informed once this has occurred unless you have discussed active cultivation. You are unable to opt out of this, and agree to these terms unequivocally upon purchase.

Damages, Issues, or Contamination
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is damaged, or if you receive the wrong items, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

During colder or hotter months, if you are concerned about your samples, please submit a package intercept with USPS. We cannot do this on your behalf. If you receive a package with damaged goods due to temperature, please submit a damage mail claim. We do not offer refunds or replacements due to temperature issues.

If your spore solution density is less than desired, we’re always happy to fix the problem. Please read our page on Spore Homogenization and follow the instructions stated there.

Issues reported over 72hr after delivery are not covered by this policy.

Undelivered or Missing Packages

Sometimes, stuff happens! We’ve seen packages go missing, get scanned in Maui one day and be delivered in Maine the next; it’s hard to say what’s going on sometimes! We generally have as much information as the USPS website does, but we’re always ready to fix a problem.

For domestic undelivered tracked packages marked as delivered, but not received, we will offer a replacement for 50% off the usual cost.

For domestic undelivered or missing untracked packages (generally only prints), we will include a free sample in your next order.

If a tracked package is shown as delivered or refused we will offer no refunds or replacements unless there is an issue, as detailed in “Damages, Issues, or Contamination” above.

If management decides to make an exception to any of these policies for whatever reasons, no further replacements or refunds will be issued after the first instance.

Extreme Weather

Issues with samples received during periods of extreme weather can be avoided by requesting a package intercept with your local USPS carrier. Visit this page at USPS.com and request the intercept with the tracking number received. This can be done immediately upon receipt. We cannot do this process for you.
